July 20-22Nd- Riverfront Canoe Trip
All I can say is this girl is not made for camping and outdoors. 19 of my friends and I set out for a float trip the morning of July 20Th. Not too excited to be sleeping outside, I loaded up my tent, air mattress, snacks, swimsuit, and pink princess sleeping bag, compliments of my father. We got there, set up our tent and I braced myself for what was in store. The first night, I slept 1 hour! All I heard was bugs, locusts, grasshoppers, and whatever else runs around campsites at night. We had to walk a ways to get to a real toilet ( the port a potty just wasn't going to cut it) and when they told me not to bring my make-up I almost backed out!
Sat July 21st- We headed down the river. Two seconds in the water my friends behind me flipped their canoe. Immediately we tied up with two other canoes because there was no way I was getting tipped or in that water.
But after 6-7 hours on the river, I can honestly say it was an amazing time! Not something I expected to happen, but I would actually go back! I tried to get in the water once, water came up to my knees, I got caught in the current and never got back in again! But the nights were fun making smores, campfires, and being around my friends. And at least I got to work on my tan while on the river!
I guess its true what they say, You never know until you try!
